February, 2015 – Cirrus9, Managed Cloud and Hosted Solutions, today announced that its Cirrus9 Hybrid public cloud service has achieved VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered status, illustrating to customers that the company’s cloud services are underpinned by VMware’s leading virtualization and cloud computing technology, namely, VMware vSphere® and VMware vCloud Director. A member of the VMware vCloud Air Network Program, Cirrus9 provides its VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered service as a set of cloud computing services across a common platform, supporting the largest set of existing applications and offering distinctive application mobility uniquely available from VMware.
“Cirrus9 is very pleased to receive VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered status. As Cirrus9 continues to innovate and build out its suite of data centre and cloud services, VMware has proven to be a great partner to serve the current and emerging needs of Canadian enterprise and public sector clients,” said Fred Bullock, CEO of Cirrus9.
“The VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered technical badge was developed to enable our Service Provider partners to differentiate themselves and help them bring their enterprise-class cloud services to market in this competitive landscape,“ said Jim Aluotto, Director, Service Providers, Americas, VMware. “We look forward to supporting Cirrus9 further as it delivers on the agility and performance customers are looking for in the cloud computing landscape.”
Customers of Cirrus9 have the ability to move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or private cloud environment to the VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered service and back again. This application portability is a key differentiator allowing customers to achieve the flexibility and security they need while enabling increased IT agility.
Cirrus9 sought VMware Hybrid Cloud Powered validation in order to offer clients a certified “on-ramp to the cloud” with the familiar tools used in their internal environments. As a validated provider, Cirrus9 can now provide users with enhanced responsiveness and agility, and reduced IT costs through increased consolidation, task automation and simplified management. The service is available immediately, in order to enable development, testing, offsite backup and business continuity environments.
Cirrus9 is a Canadian service provider headquartered in Saint John, NB operating multiple data centres, managed enterprise cloud infrastructure and related hosting services and support. The company offers highly available, carrier-neutral data centres, Canadian data residency, data security compliance, managed cloud, telephony and regional fibre connectivity.
